A challenging 4 days of racing thanks to mother nature throwing a mixed bag of wind directions and waves. In spite of the uncontrollable factors the regatta chair Felicity Rodness and her team put on a top notch regatta. Thanks to all the organizers, officials, volunteers, staff, coaches and parents who all worked tirelessly to make the event a success. Thank you also to Sail Canada and all the event sponsors for creating this opportunity for the future sailing stars of Canada to come together to compete and develop.
Elle Bruce photos (primarily on Alpha course) from all four days of racing can be viewed at the link below. Official photography from the event (including Bravo course) can be viewed at TSGPhoto.com.

Thanks to SMSC officials, volunteers, and local sailing families for being such welcoming hosts. And to the coaches and parents as well for making attending the regatta possible.

Snuggled into the Canadian side of the St. Clair River at the base of Lake Huron lies the Sarnia Yacht Club. The gracious host to the annual Sailfest Sarnia Regatta.
This year conditions shifted from north winds and big waves on the Friday for the Ontario Sailing run development camp, to light winds and above seasonal air temps for the two days of racing over the weekend.
Thanks to SYC, all the volunteers and of course the Tim Horton’s truck for making it one of the highlights of the Ontario summer regatta circuit.

Hot hazy humid and no wind pretty much sums up day one of the regatta hosted by Royal Hamilton Yacht Club out in Hamilton Bay. The AP flag hung limp until about 2:30pm when a breath of air movement gave hope and all fleets were launched. Unfortunately hope was dashed and all fleets returned with no races completed. Fortunately day two brought more favourable winds and all fleets were promptly launched and enough races completed to give everyone their series. Congratulations to the winners and to all the competitors for your patience. Kudos to those coaches and sailors who helped to organize games to help keep everyone entertained. Thanks to RHYC and all the volunteers for putting on a great event.

Cold and windy on day one and cold and sunny on day two… they don’t call it the Ice Breaker Regatta for no reason.
